SeekAR Acquires Patents for AR Fantasy Sports Platform
SeekAR, an augmented reality engagement platform, has acquired key patents for location-based fantasy sports experiences. These patents uniquely enable the assembly of fantasy teams through real-world digital engagements.
The patented technology enables users to discover, capture, and assemble fantasy sports teams by interacting with augmented reality elements at physical locations. This connects digital fantasy gameplay directly with real-world activity.
Combining geolocation tools, proximity alerts, and digital collectables, SeekAR transforms exploration of surroundings for opportunities to build fantasy teams, unlock rewards, and participate in experiences tied to sports events.
The patents were acquired from AR Sports, an early developer of AR fantasy sports systems. The intellectual property protects functions that support SeekAR, including AR-based discovery of fantasy players, proximity notifications activated by movement, and digital player tokens with value in gameplay.
The portfolio includes geofenced drafting areas and reward zones tied to stadiums, arenas, and city locations. This enables leagues, teams, brands, and event organisers to create large-scale fantasy experiences in urban areas, including gameplay, AR challenges, and sponsored digital player releases for live sports.
The patented system has already been used in fan engagement activations across major sporting environments through partnerships with brands including CloseUp360, Solepack, and Cash Stash.
Implementations took place during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, both at the SkyLofts MGM Grand Hotel and Casino and at the Thomas & Mack Centre. Additional deployments happened at LSU basketball games in Baton Rouge, near Tiger Stadium and the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
Fan engagement experiences also took place during NBA games, including activations of the AR environment outside key sporting venues.
The platform is built for large sporting environments, where audience activity goes beyond stadiums. Suitable settings include the NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles, Super Bowl LXI, Fanatics Fest in New York City, the 2026 US Open Tennis and Golf Championships, and the 2026 Olympic Games and FIFA World Cup.
SeekAR, developed by Nexrage Studios in Frisco, Texas (Sports City USA), combines location-based collectables, AR interaction, and physical exploration to support fan and brand engagement.
Nexrage Studios builds immersive technologies across AI, fintech, sports, gaming, and entertainment. Its main product, SeekAR, enables location-based digital collectable experiences to prompt real-world interaction.
